AI-powered career
growth for
10,000+ employees.

Intuit's internal mobility was low — employees weren't finding or applying for internal opportunities. The fix wasn't a campaign. It was a behavior design problem that required ethnographic research, Action Mapping, and an AI-powered matching prototype.

01
the challenge

Low mobility.
High talent.
Wrong solution.

Intuit had 10,000+ employees and a genuine internal mobility problem — not from lack of roles, but from lack of behavior change. Employees weren't aware of internal opportunities, didn't believe they were qualified, and had no structured pathway to explore them. The default solution was communication. The real solution was design.

02
the approach

Ethnographic research.
Behavioral barriers.
Then Action Mapping.

I conducted ethnographic research into how employees actually discovered and pursued internal roles — shadowing conversations, analyzing drop-off points, identifying the specific moments where employees disengaged from the process. Action Mapping then translated those findings into a learning and tool design brief: what did employees need to be able to do, at which moments, to change the outcome?

The behavioral barriers were specific: lack of awareness at the awareness stage, uncertainty about qualifications at the consideration stage, and unclear next steps at the action stage. Each one required a different design response.

03
the solution

AI matching.
Structured paths.
Behavior change at scale.

An internal mobility learning program integrated with an AI-powered career matching prototype. Employees could explore roles based on their existing skills, see where gaps existed, and receive personalized learning path recommendations. The AI surface layer was built on top of a behavioral nudge system designed to move employees from browsing to applying.

Alongside the digital program, I designed executive system logos and branded graphics for the EXO AI Enablement initiative — a leadership program for internal AI adoption.

Select a role to see how the platform surfaces internal opportunities, identifies skill gaps, and recommends learning paths. Then see how the system nudges action across three channels.

Designer's note: demo only. In production, the matching algorithm analyzed employee skills data, role requirements, and career trajectory patterns across the organization.

the system doesn't just match. it nudges.

Matching surfaces the opportunity. Behavior change requires a push. Below: how the platform drives action through a multi-channel progression.

Quick check in, Sarah 👋

You opened the Engineering Manager role 4 days ago and haven't come back. That's the most common drop-off point.

A colleague on the data platform team just finished People Management Foundations in 45 minutes. It's the first module on your path.
